Moth or Socks that Rock?

Hey, it’s Maria,

OK, it’s time to vote. Would you rather see my Wing of the Moth Shawl or more Socks that Rock? Wait, this is my blog (well, mine and Lexi’s) so you can’t vote. Lexi and I are a benevolent dictatorship. Go ahead and look. It’s a cool definition, especially if you’re a parent.

I made an executive decision. I’ll show you my shawl. Wing-o’-the-Moth is a gorgeous pattern designed by Anne Hanson. Her latest claim to fame is the Bee Fields shawl that I purchased this yarn for. I got the tip from Cara. Thanks Cara!!! I also learned how NOT to bind off my shawl from her. So, without further ado, here it is.

I absolutely love it. I used Rowan Kidsilk Haze in the Jelly Colorway.

It’s extremely lightweight but I think it will be warm. I also added beads to it, thanks to Melanie and her Mystery Stole 3. No mine is not finished. Melanie is planning to add a beading tutorial to her blog next week!

It’s pretty hard to see the beads, but you can see the one thread that pulled funny when I blocked it.

While you’re here, would you like to know about the first week of our vacation? We took Lexi to college, as you’ve heard. (There will be a sappy blog post next week.) You’ve also heard how horribly hot it is. I’m so tired of sweating. From there we went to Mobile, Alabama to see a boat. My dad is in charge of renovating a boat that will be used for a mobile Bible school in Samoa. Right now we’re in Orlando, Florida. Our motorhome has been having power issues. Ask my Honey about moving the bus and forgetting to unplug it. The cord is being replaced as we speak. I’m sitting in an air conditioned hotel room with a naughty puppy

and a sick kid. Honey and three kids went to a Disney water park. Don’t feel sorry for me though. I have Diet Coke, chocolate, air conditioning, and knitting.

More Socks that Rock later.

Hey Lexi, can I use the potty chair photo when I do my sappy post?
