A Clean House…Guaranteed!

If I told you I had a foolproof way to get your house clean, would you believe me? Here it is:

Just watch Hoarders on A & E.

It’s horrifying and sad.  On the episode we watched last night, the lady was an excellent knitter.  They were making her get rid of some of her knitting needles.  They told her she didn’t need that many.  What?!?  Then they found a whole box of Addi Turbos and she got rid of them.  I was yelling at the TV.  My Hero even thought that was wrong.  (I have him so brainwashed!!!)  Just clean her house and let her knit.  Then she’ll be happy!

Anyway…I’m cleaning my yarn bedroom today!

Speaking of knitting, (were we speaking of knitting?)  I did get some knitting done at Sock Camp!  We stopped at Churchmouse Yarns & Teas.  What a fabulous shop!  The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.  They also had great, wearable projects.  I bought the yarn and pattern for this scarf.

This is Barb’s Koigu Ruffle Scarf and it’s not Koigu!  It’s Socks That Rock in Koi Pond.   I found out really quickly when I got to camp that I wasn’t going to be able to knit lace in the middle of all the craziness.  It was a fun, brainless pattern, and I’m planning to knit another one with Koigu!

This weekend I worked on a lace shawl for Ms In Charge.  I started over three times.  That’s a saga for another day.  I only have a week to make it, so I’m knitting like crazy!

I’d better get back to my yarn mess, before someone nominates me for Hoarders.  In my defense, I don’t have garbage, rotting food, or dead cats in the middle of the mess!  Maybe I should quit watching the show.  It’s really disturbing.  It’s great motivation though!

I love to clean!?!

  1. You aren’t alone. My friend and I watched that same episode (at our Knit Night) and we were also yelling at the TV. Love your new scarf!!

  2. I saw a promo of last week’s Hoarders program which was enough to give me nightmares and forced me into cleaning out some drawers last week and some carpet cleaning. That show is disgusting….but it did get me going on Spring Cleaning!

  3. I just linked to you—oh the horror of getting rid of Addi turbos!!!
    Your scarf is gorgeous!

  4. I can’t turn that show off when I catch it. It’s like morbidly fascinating. It does make you rethink your habits when it comes to keeping things. Reminds me, I need to clean out the kitchen junk drawers!

  5. The horrors of getting rid of a box of Addi Turbos! That should be a federal offense. STR knits up well in the pattern you’ve featured.

  6. I watch that show , too….it’s like a train wreck! I understand “hoarding” good stuff like yarn and fabric(!), it’s the trash and weird piles of stuff I don’t get.

  7. Which episode is it? I guess I have to go through the penance of watching it. I hate to throw away anything. One person’s trash, another’s treasure.

  8. Okay, now I am really curious. Can you tell me which episode it was? I looked and couldn’t find it.
